The kangaroos involved in the Sponsoroo program, have been either hand raised by me, (Susie Rowe,) released with me by other carers, or are offspring of those kangaroos. They are free to roam but live on our property, "Narimba", within about 2kms of the house and sometimes come in to visit. 

I have been been raising and living with kangaroos since the beginning of 1990 and have come to really love them. I feel so strongly for their plight and wish that more people could do so as well. I would love to hear from anyone else who rears and releases kangaroos to the wild, on their property, please.

Did you realise that kangaroos each have their own character, they display many of the same emotions as humans, make wonderful mothers and they are very sensitive to their environment.

There is a pure, unequivocal depth and beauty in each kangaroo. There is deep wisdom in their presence, if only we would take the time and patience to learn from them, we would understand so much more about their species, their habitat, their environment.

While that sounds so very obvious to some of us, why is it that kangaroos are treated with so little respect and with such cruelty? Humans do not understand kangaroos very well. We are not aware of, do not appreciate, the uniqueness of kangaroos.
